The City of Indian Wells has extended its partnership as presenting sponsor of the Epson Tour Championship through 2026, ensuring the season finale will return to Indian Wells Golf Resort from October 2–5, 2025. As the official qualifying tour of the LPGA, the Epson Tour Championship represents the culmination of the season where top finishers earn their LPGA Tour cards for the 2026 season. This marks the second consecutive year the city has partnered with the Epson Tour, reinforcing its commitment to hosting world-class sporting events.
The tournament will feature 108 professional women golfers competing for a $250,000 purse, with the winner receiving $37,500 and 650 points toward the Race for the Card—the highest single-event points total available all season. Bruce Whitman, Mayor of Indian Wells, highlighted the city's established role in elite sports, stating, "Having hosted BNP Paribas Open, one of the largest events of the year in tennis, for nearly 50 years, we are thrilled to once again welcome the biggest pro-event on the Epson Tour at our premier golf destination." The city's ongoing support for elite sports continues with this championship, which provides a platform for future LPGA stars.
Jody Brothers, the Epson Tour's Chief Business and Operating Officer, emphasized the quality of the experience, stating, "The 2024 playing offered a world-class experience for our athletes and staff, as well as giving the community a sneak peek into the future stars of the LPGA." The Epson Tour, entering its 45th season in 2025, has grown significantly, with $5 million in prize money awarded across 20 events, and has produced 406 LPGA Tour titles from its alumni, including 51 major championships. This extension solidifies Indian Wells as a key venue in the tour's ecosystem, directly impacting the career trajectories of aspiring professionals.
Golf fans can attend the championship and participate in the official Pro-Am held on Wednesday of tournament week, playing alongside future LPGA Tour stars. The partnership's importance lies in its stability for the tour's qualifying structure and its economic and promotional benefits for the city, aligning with its reputation as a destination for premier sporting events.
