The Heart of Giving Holiday Event, organized by Ladies Touch Inc. in partnership with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department South Los Angeles Station and the West Athens Westmont Task Force, will bring together numerous community organizations to provide essential resources and holiday experiences to families in need on December 22, 2025. The event represents a significant coordinated effort to address holiday season needs through direct community support and resource distribution.
Scheduled from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the South Los Angeles Station front parking lot, the gathering will offer free food, clothing, gifts for adults and children, hot meals, and holiday treats. A dedicated holiday photo activation presented by LuvMe will provide families with photo opportunities with Santa and elves, while a complementary gift wrapping booth will be available for donations. The event also features outreach tables and community resources from participating nonprofit organizations and service providers.
"We believe every family deserves to feel the warmth, generosity, and hope of the holiday season," said Ewanda Jackson, Founder of Ladies Touch Inc. "The Heart of Giving Holiday Event is about dignity, community care, and showing up for each other when it matters most." Due to high demand, families must register in advance through Ladies Touch Inc. and partnering organizations to receive gifts, clothing, food packages, and access to the Santa photo experience.
The event highlights the growing need for community support, particularly for children's toys. Ladies Touch Inc. has established an official Amazon Wish List to facilitate direct toy donations from the community, supporters, and businesses. This approach allows broader participation in meeting the increased demand for children's holiday gifts.
Community participation extends beyond resource distribution to include appearances and hands-on support from various community figures, including celebrity chef Ewanda Jackson, social media influencer Dusty the Rapper, actress Novi Brown, and Project Runway icon Kara Saun. The event's extensive coalition of community partners includes organizations such as the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, West Athens Westmont Task Force, Volunteers of America Los Angeles, and numerous other local nonprofits and service providers.
"The holiday season is about compassion and community," Jackson emphasized. The event's significance lies in its demonstration of coordinated community response to seasonal needs, bringing together law enforcement, nonprofit organizations, businesses, and community volunteers to create a comprehensive support system for families during the holiday period.
